IMUN Conference
Roneil - Kenyan Delegate
We just recently wished goodbye to 120 delegates who participated in the 2011 IMUN Summer Camp, and we are already looking forward to our next's year camp! We are hoping to see some already familiar faces knowing that many of them are trying to come back next year, but we are also equally excited to meet more and more new faces!
As the end of summer approaches, 2012 IMUN Camp preparations are starting. After this year’s survey and feedback analysis,a new selection criterion has already been designed. Our team used the delegates’ feedback as well as our staff evaluations to create a new recruiting method that will enhance the two-week experience for delegates and match their camp goals and expectations, while also matching our IMUN Summer Camp goals at the same time.
In order to make the integration of the students easier and faster, and to later encourage team building and collaboration, the application process was designed in such way to more closely recognize the necessary steps in making the conference successful. The most important decision involves the submission of the position paper that is now required prior to the beginning of the camp. This will allow other camp activities to go on without the stress for the delegates that would otherwise need to work on their papers, presentations, and speeches. It will further allow them to come more prepared and ready to discuss some of the most popular global concern and today’s world’s topics in a much greater detail.
Moreover, because this is a great opportunity for students all over the world to come and participate in the International Model United Nations Conference in the U.S. , only the best and most interested should earn this chance. We encourage everyone to apply and submit their essays explaining why is it that they want to attend this conference, after which the interview will be conducted with each of the applicants. It is essential to posses the communication skills in English and understand what the camp is about before the delegates finally decide to come. The interview will allow for both of these requirements to be appropriately communicated and evaluated.
After the process allows us to decide on next year’s participants, the issue topics for the IMUN Conference Sessions will be announced and students will be required to perform research, write and submit their position papers prior to their arrival at the camp. Our helpful IMUN crew will still be off assistance in this process to anyone who has any questions or simply does not know where exactly to start. New applications are now available and the plan is to have them in by the end of this year. The deadline for submitting your application is December 24th, 2011. So, hurry up and secure your place in UNESCO’s next year’s Summer Camp. Come and represent your assigned country as an independent, capable, and confident delegate, while being internationally aware, respectful and creative in your thinking and solving the world’s most recent issues. Apply here now!
We look forward to our next IMUN Camp! Take a quick tour on our website to find out more about the camp itself, and we hope to see you there!
